Wipro Ltd. (NYSE:WIT), a leading global information technology, consulting and business process services company, announced that it has deployed the Security Connected framework of Intel® Security to enhance endpoint protection for its global enterprise network. This deployment will help Wipro achieve its mission of a “Near-Zero Malware” IT environment within the next few quarters.
Speaking about the transition, Mr. Raja Ukil, Chief Information Officer, Wipro Limited said, “We wanted to have an anti-malware solution which can deliver a very high rate of auto remediation and superior user experience with respect to definition updates and the Intel Security solution has scored very high on both counts.”
“One of our key requirements was centralized control and granular visibility into malware-related incidents along with remote containment capability, which we achieved using the Intel Security solution. Endpoint security controls (Intel Security EPA) integrated with network layer Intrusion Prevention System (McAfee® Network Security Platform) — hardware and virtual appliances — and sophisticated sandboxing (McAfee Advanced Threat Defense) is a new experience in effective incident handling,” added Mr. Sunil Varkey, Chief Information Security Officer, Wipro Limited.
Commenting on the deployment, Mr. Jagdish Mahapatra, Managing Director for India and SAARC at Intel Security said, “We’re proud to have partnered with the Wipro team in helping to achieve their aggressive goals and are glad that our Security Connected framework is able to address the multifarious requirements of such goals. The ability to do this with zero downtime and for 125,000 employees within a 40-day timeframe is a significant achievement for this partnership.”
