Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association, the only representative body for the Construction Equipment industry in India, announced the appointment of Mr. Anand Sundaresan, Vice Chairman & Managing Director, Schwing Stetter India Pvt. Ltd. and Mr. Arvind Garg, Vice President – Head – Construction & Mining business of L&T Ltd, as President & Vice President respectively of the association for 2 years with effect from July 01, 2015. As a part of their new role, they will be responsible for strategic initiatives of the association to achieve its objectives and act as a catalyst for the construction equipment industry.
The appointments were made at the Annual General Meeting of ICEMA held on July 10, 2015 coinciding with the two-day national conference on highway equipment held on July 9th and 10th, 2015 in New Delhi.
This conference focused on all aspects of Highway equipment with exclusive sessions on the prospects and potential; standard & best practices and IT, Economics & Financing.
Commenting on the appointment, Mr. Anand Sundaresan, said “ICEMA has been instrumental in promoting the construction equipment industry in India that has led to the progressive growth of our country’s infrastructure. I am honored and privileged to lead this prestigious institution and will ensure that, as President, my expertise and experience makes significant contribution to the growth of the construction equipment industry in India.”
Mr. Anand Sundaresan comes with over three decades of experience in various Indian and multi-national companies. He joined Schwing Stetter India, in 1999 as Executive Director. He became its Managing Director in January 2002 and Vice Chairman & Managing director in 2013. As a transformational leader, he steered the business of Schwing Stetter India forward by introducing best-of-breed products backed by German technology for the Indian construction industry.
