Added multilingual subtitle display and omnidirectional camera link functions
Introducing the MOVERIO glass in the booth with an image of the Japanese and other language subtitle display
One of the improved functions is the multilingual subtitle display. When speaking into the microphone equipped on the device headset, the words spoken and multilingual translations are displayed on the glass surface. For example, if a Japanese speaking wearer speaks to an English speaker, the words are picked up by the microphone, and both English and Japanese are displayed in the glasses. The wearer can then read the English to the English speaker.

Originally, this voice recognition and subtitle generation function was a smartphone app called “UD talk” – software designed to convert voice into subtitles (for Japanese) and translate subtitles into other languages. As of October 8th, this software supports 11 different languages including English, German, French, Chinese and Korean.
Also, the link with Ricoh’s omnidirectional “RICOH THETA” camera is unique. This model takes 360° omnidirectional images with one press on the shutter button, and by installing a special app to MOVERIO, the 360° image can be viewed using the MOVERIO smart glass. Because MOVERIO is fitted with acceleration and gyroscope sensors, the 360° image changes as the wearer moves his or her head up, down, left or right. This gives the wearer the sensation of actually being in the world that was shot by the camera. The system can be used for both still photographs and video ― smart glasses are becoming even more fun.
