Canon India celebrates World Photography with series of Contests

Canon, a leader in digital imaging in India, dedicatedly leveraged the occasion of World Photography Day to promote the culture of photography and indulge photography enthusiasts, hobbyists, as well as school children.

Image 1_World Photography DayIn an endeavor to nurture the budding interest in photography in the country, Canon India organized a number of activities leading up to the day. From 10th August to 16th August, an inter-school online photography contest was conducted in 60 selected schools across the country. This contest was conducted by EOS Academy and garnered a lot of excitement in the school children of various ages. Some interesting prizes were given away, including the latest Canon cameras like the IXUS 275HS compact camera, as well as the latest Selphy CP1000 compact photo printer.

Based on the philosophy that true passion begins at home, Canon India also conducted a photography contest for its own employees giving them the theme “Colours”, to go out and shoot on. The grand prize for this was an EOS 1200D, Canon’s latest budget DSLR.

In addition to these contests, Canon also organized a number of workshops across the country for various Photography associations and photography institutes.
