Current threats such as Ransomware have posed as major threats to the normal functioning of computers and to the personal or corporate data stored in them. These kinds of threats are constantly evolving, thus challenging the current security standards laid by security products. The Digital world requires a new embedded layered approach to ensure digital security to help secure your digital world from cyber-attacks.
We have incorporated technologies like MicroWorld Winsock Layer (MWL), Proactive Behavioral Analysis Engine (PBAE), Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS), Domain & IP Reputation Check, Terminal Server Protection Module (TPSM) and Non-Intrusive Learning Pattern (NILP) Technology to provide real-time protection against Ransomware, DDoS, APT and other cyber-attacks.
2.How do you look at the ever changing security landscape – how can enterprises can cope up with the same? Elaborate on eScan’s role in redefining security space.
One of the key concerns of CIOs today is the layered defense they need to build apart from safeguarding the data leakages. It requires a multi-pronged approach to defend as well as find the breaches in time to mitigate them. The key concern remains to find the weak links quickly and patch them. As data centers and cloud technologies enable companies to seamlessly migrate between technologies as well as reduce cost, the acceptance levels for data centers and cloud solutions are fast becoming the trend. eScan has developed security solutions precisely for these kinds of scenarios, where our users are alerted when a breach happened, apart from multi-layered security to protect the networks, endpoints and secured the data.
3.Which segment you believe is going to be impacted the most with the IT trends like AI, IoT, DevOps, Containers, etc. What kind of innovations are you driving as an organization to serve customers better?
Cybersecurity is now becoming an integral part of all business IT backbones and is crucial for sectors like BFSI, Government, Defense, Education, or even at an individual level. One of the key trends observed in the recent past is a sudden & manifold growth of cyber-attacks such as targeted attacks, Ransomware, DDoS and APTs (Advanced Persistent Threat) attacks, that is creating havoc across India as well as globally.
eScan being one of the leading IT security solution provider has a range of solutions to provide security to various kind of networked IT environments to stand alone systems. Some of the product technologies include the MicroWorld Winsock Layer technology, that scans all the incoming and outgoing traffic from the Internet and checks for any malicious activity; Proactive Behavioral Analysis Engine, that monitors the activity of all processes on Local Machine and when it encounters any activity or behavior that matches to a Ransomware, a red flag is raised and the process is blocked; Host Intrusion Prevention System (HIPS) that helps in detecting when a rootkit, key logger, spyware or Trojan is installed on the system; Non-Intrusive Learning Pattern (NILP) Technology that works on the basis of Artificial Intelligence wherein, it learns user’s behavior and then takes an informed decision in the background and help identify and classify emails on behalf of the users whether the emails are spam or ham.
4.The world is evolving at high pace and so does technology. Do you find it difficult to cope up with customers ever evolving needs with regard to security? Please mention some of the challenges and how eScan addresses them.
With the fast evolving digital era, the vast amount of data is generated from various sources as well as business processes, which needs strong protection and safeguarding be it from hacking to internal stealing or from cyber-attacks. This has made IT security the cornerstone of every IT infrastructure building block. One of the key major challenges today is Ransomware that is now getting more complex and stealthier such as APT, DDoS, Spear Phishing, Ransomware etc. With these multi-vector attacks the defense to needs to be intense and real-time to safeguard businesses to individuals.
To overcome such challenges, eScan has made its products and solutions designed in such a way with minimalistic human intervention cyber threats can be contained and outbreaks can be prevented. This includes proactive patch management updates/alerts to group-wise rules and policies deployment with a central web-based management control to track and mitigate any untoward incident such as Ransomware attacks to APTs or targeted attacks.
Cloud penetration is now being accepted and recognized as a norm in IT workplaces and Security-as-a-Service (SAAS) adoption is also increasing rapidly. This is one area where eScan is making tremendous progress, with provisioning security solutions via a cloud.

6.We are in the last quarter of the year, would you like to share a few IT trends that will drive the industry in upcoming FY.
IoT, Ransomware, Banking Trojans and Crypto Currency mining malware will dominate 2019. These growing and complex cyber-attacks would warrant much desired proactive security solutions that are designed based on AI and Machine learning to track the patterns in real time and help to mitigate the risks. The rampant growth in digitization has created an uneven security threat due to the sudden growth in user bases, where organizations have not been able to ramp up their security solution for their networks for data security. And, this is evident from the recent spate of data leakages from large banks to e-commerce and food-related sites.
