Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu announced the launch of five quantum systems made in Amaravati, describing the development as a significant step towards building an indigenous quantum technology ecosystem in the state.
Speaking at the PAN-IIT Andhra Pradesh Summit 2026, Naidu said the five systems were developed for applications including hardware integration, validation and quantum architecture, highlighting the growing capabilities of technology teams in Amaravati.
Naidu recalled questioning why India should depend entirely on quantum technology imported from the US and other countries when advanced systems could potentially be developed domestically. He said he brought together technology companies, researchers and other ecosystem players to explore the development of quantum systems locally.
The Chief Minister said sustained collaboration among various stakeholders helped accelerate the initiative. He highlighted the participation of industry and technology partners and said the effort would pave the way for quantum computers to be produced in Andhra Pradesh.
Naidu said the state’s objective is to move beyond importing advanced quantum technology and build local capabilities in quantum hardware, systems and manufacturing, with Amaravati emerging as a centre for quantum innovation.
