Apple has sent out invites for its next big launch event on September 12. The invite, which says ‘Gather Around’ under a golden ring, is symbolic of the first event to be held after the new Apple Park campus has been completed. In fact, the event, where the next iPhones are expected to be launched, will be again at the Steve Jobs theatre adjoining the new Apple Campus. During the 2017 event, just the Steve Jobs Theatre and the Apple Store below were ready. The Apple Park campus was then still getting finishing touches.
At its “Gather round” event, Apple is expected to launch three new iPhone models. The first company to hit $1 trillion market cap is rumoured to introduce two new iPhone X (review) variants alongside an affordable 6.1-inch iPhone featuring an LCD screen. If the reports are the be believed, one of upgraded iPhone X version will feature a 5.8-inch OLED screen, while there will be a high-end variant of the same with a 6.5-inch OLED display.
It’s worth mentioning that the earlier reports have suggested that the upcoming Apple iPhones will come in a variety of unconventional colours. All upcoming iPhone trio is expected to flaunt the brand’s Face ID unlocking mechanism. The rumour mill also suggests that the 3D Touch functionality will be removed from one of the upcoming iPhones, and our best bet is that the 6.1-inch LCD model will be the one to skip it.
