Starting on October 9, Jio and Whatsapp will be traveling across India in vans. They are planning to visit 10 different cities of Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and more to promote this educational campaign. They want to educate the JioPhone users of these cities how to use the messaging app on their feature phone to connect with family and friends in a simple, safe, and reliable manner.
As part of the educational campaign, different events will be held in each city. These events will show people how they should be using Whatsapp securely and responsibly. There will be street plays demonstrating to JioPhone users on how to connect with others in a responsible and meaningful manner through Whatsapp. Street plays were chosen as a medium of education because it is the most simple yet beautifully effective way of engaging people and spreading your message across. These plays are a popular form of reaching out through art.
Besides the drive across the country personally, stressing the importance of safe and responsible way of using Whatsapp, the duo have created informative leaflets and video tutorials. These print and video mode of reaching is an effort to connect with a more urban audience in larger cities. These tutorials are available in 11 Indian languages like Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, etc. and are available in Jio Stores across the country.
