Messages from unknown numbers asking for personal details should not be responded

imagesAmidst the buzzing cyber frauds- Paytm hoax messages on KYC, it becomes important for both consumers and enterprises to be alert and aware about the kind of risks that they are exposed to.

Cyber fraudsters have found a new way to remotely access user’s devices through which they can easily get every information including banking and payment applications. E-commerce company Paytm has issued a warning to its customers to alert them of fraudulent messages asking customers about KYC.

In a recent incident, Paytm founder Vijay Shekhar Sharma took on to social media requesting customers to remain cautious of these fraud messages and asked them not to fall victim to scam messages or emails coming from scammers and pretending to be company officials.

It is advisable to not to click on messages coming from unknown resources or numbers as these messages are the bearers of malicious links. It is better not to respond to messages coming from unknown or untraceable numbers, asking for financial information or personal details. Apart from that, cybersecurity firms have designed and developed various cybersecurity products to help individuals and organizations in securing their data from advancing cyberattacks. “
