Redmi, after its recent independent brand announcement, launches its first-ever flagship phones, Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro—starting at RMB 1999 and RMB 2499 respectively. The Redmi K20 Pro sports the top-class chipset Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, a 6.39-inch Full Screen Display, a 20MP pop-up front camera and a rear 48MP triple camera setup. Also announced was Redmi 7A, featuring the new Snapdragon 439 SoC, improved design, and an amazing battery life, starting at just RMB 549. Redmi’s first notebook product, RedmiBook 14, was also unveiled at the launch event presented by vice-president Lu Weibing, general manager of Redmi brand. It was also announced yesterday that over 10 million devices in the Redmi Note 7 series has shipped worldwide since it was first launched.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 with graphite cooling ensures best gaming experience
As the first Redmi flagship device, Redmi K20 Pro uses Qualcomm’s flagship Mobile Platform––Snapdragon 855. Along with the top-notch chipset, Redmi K20 Pro also features a custom 8-layered graphite cooling technology, which dissipates heat and keeps your device cool even under heavy loads.
Redmi K20 features the best-in-class Qualcomm Snapdragon 730, offering an increase for both CPU and GPU performance (+35 percent and +10 percent) as well as twice the AI performance compared to its predecessor—all enabled by the same Kryo 4 chip architecture used in the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, along with the 4th generation AI smart engine.

AMOLED Full Screen Display with unique 3D four-sided curved glass back flame design
Redmi K20 and K20 Pro uses a nano-holographic technology to produce a unique flamed texture on its four-sided curved glass back. The combination of 3D glass and extremely narrow frame gives the phone an incredibly comfortable hand-feel.
Featuring a 6.39-inch AMOLED screen, the display of Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro supports Sunlight display 2.0, low-brightness color grayscale optimization, 256-scale eye protection technology, and received low-blue-light eye protection certification by Germany’s VDE Testing and Certification Institute.
The Redmi K20 and K20 Pro are equipped with the 7th-generation in-screen fingerprint technology. The dual optimization of hardware and software significantly improves the fingerprint recognition rate and speed. At the same time, Redmi K20 Pro is also the first in the industry to adopt a hardware DC dimming solution for its AMOLED display, which not only improves on the PWM flickering problem, but also ensures accurate picture colors.
Sony 48MP triple-camera and 20MP pop-up front camera
Offering an AI triple camera setup, Redmi K20 and K20 Pro feature a main 48MP camera with 1/2″ Sony flagship sensor that can produce ultra-high resolution photos. For night portraits, the camera sensor supports merging four pixels to form large 1.6μm pixels to capture more details in low-light conditions.
In addition to the 48MP main camera, the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro also feature a 13MP ultra wide-angle lens and 8MP telephoto lens. The options offered by the combination of these three lenses can cover most settings, delivering a SLR-like photography experience.
Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro both sport a 20MP pop-up front-facing camera with a sapphire glass cover. When the front camera is raised, it will display lighting effects and is accompanied by one of six sound effects. The light ring on top acts as a notification light for incoming messages and charging status.
4000mAh large battery with 27W quick charge
Featuring a large 4000mAh battery and an AI energy saving mode to automatically adjust screen brightness and for activating sleep mode at night, Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro have power to last through a day of heavy use.
Redmi K20 Pro supports 27W wired quick charge. It charges up to 58% in 30 mins and can be fully charged in 73 mins. Redmi K20 supports up to 18W charging.
First Redmi flagship with NFC and Hi-Res Audio certification
The Redmi K20 series is the first Redmi flagship to offer multi-function NFC, with transaction speeds increased by up to 30 percent. For a better payment experience, Mi Pay now covers transit cards in over 200 cities in Chinese Mainland, while also supporting different wireless payment platforms such as JD and Meituan Quick Pay.
Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro also offers superb audio quality, featuring 1217SLS speakers and Smart PA as well as a 0.9cc large sound chamber for powerful playback. Both devices retain a 3.5mm headphone jack, and come with Mi Sound, Xiaomi’s own sound amp technology, and have both received Hi-Res Audio certification.
Redmi 7A: high quality and long battery life
Redmi 7A presents a complete upgrade over its predecessor, Redmi 6A. It comes with the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC, a larger 4000mAh battery, improved design, faster 10W charger, improved speakers, splash resistance, as well as the ability to receive FM radio signals without an external antenna.
Redmi K20 series and Redmi 7A will start pre-orders on May 28 at 6pm, and will be available for open sale at 10am on June 1st and June 6th, respectively via Xiaomi official channels in Chinese Mainland.
Redmi K20 Pro will retail starting from RMB 2499 for the 6GB+64GB, RMB 2599 for 6GB+128GB version, RMB 2799 for 8GB+128GB version and RMB 2999 for the 8GB+256GB version.
Redmi K20 will be available at RMB 1999 for the 6GB+64GB version and RMB 2099 for the 6GB+128GB version.
Redmi 7A will be available at RMB 549 for 2GB+16GB version and RMB 599 for 2GB+32GB version.
RedmiBook 14 – Redmi’s notebook debut
At today’s event, Lu also announced RedmiBook 14, Redmi’s first notebook product. Weighing just 1.5kg, this slim 14-inch notebook has no lack of power, equipped with the latest 8th-generation Intel “Whiskey Lake” processors and Nvidia GeForce MX250 graphics. RedmiBook 14 also comes with up to 8GB DDR4 RAM and 512GB SSD storage.
RedmiBook 14 will be available for pre-order in Chinese Mainland from June 1, with a starting price of RMB 3999.
