Gaming and Digital Learning Hub in AP

Quebec Minister for International Relations Ms. Christine St Pierre met Resident Commissioner of Andhra Pradesh Bhavan Shri Praveen Prakash in New Delhi to discuss about Gaming and Digital Learning Hub in AP. This meeting was held in continuation to the recent agreement between UNESCO MGIEP and Andhra Pradesh Government in December 2017.

praveen_prakash_with_UNESCO_MGIEP_1 UNESCO MGIEP had agreed to take the initiative in organising workshops to aid the development and implementation of proposed Gaming and Digital Learning Hub by inviting global companies and experts. In this regard, it presented the project concept to Quebec government and extended their invitation to the companies in Quebec province in Canada to be a part of Digital Learning Hub project in AP. The province of Quebec is a global centre of excellence in gaming, education and design for games. It is a major hub for companies in the gaming and digital content creation domain.

This hub will be the first of its kind in Global Ed-Tech Hub in Asia-Pacific, located out of Andhra Pradesh aided by UNESCO MGIEP’s educational frameworks and standards. The hub will see investments in the niche sectors of Gaming, AR/VR, Visual Effects, Animation and various other emerging technologies. UNESCO MGIEP and AP Economic Development Board are working together to engage the local and global community and other relevant stakeholders.

praveen_prakash_with_UNESCO_MGIEP_2The Resident Commissioner explained to the Quebec Minister about the ecosystem present in AP and Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Nara Chandrababu Naidu’s push for latest technologies in governance. He also mentioned about AP Digital Content Corporation set up in the state to make quality content for providing training in schools and government departments in AP. He also emphasized that projects in the state are managed through Real-Time Governance. Lastly, the Commissioner invited the Minister of International Relations to visit Amaravati and witness the growth happening in the new capital region.

Mr. Dominic Marcotte, Consul Quebec and Director Quebec Office Mumbai; Dr. Anantha Duraiappah, Director of UNESCO MGIEP; Ms. Archana Chaudhary Executive Officer Partnerships at UNESCO MGIEP; and Mr. Taranjeet Sambi, Additional Director at AP Economic Development Board also participated in the meeting.
