“Silicon Valley of India” Bengaluru hosts Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 roadshow

The Vibrant Gujarat 2024 delegation successfully concludes   the Bengaluru led by Shri Balvantsinh Rajput, Hon’ble Minister for Industries, Micro, Small and Medium Industries, Cottage, Khadi and Rural Industries, Civil Aviation, Labour and Employment, Government of Gujarat on November 9th. Distinguished industry leaders, along with officials from the Gujarat government, were in attendance on this occasion.

After the success of the curtain raiser event in New Delhi, the government also organized roadshows in Mumbai, Chandigarh, Kolkata, Chennai and Lucknow and showcased Vibrant Gujarat globally in Japan, Germany, Italy, Denmark, Singapore, Australia, France, UAE, Vietnam, South Korea and USA. The Bengaluru roadshow was organized to showcase the immense potential of the state’s dynamic policies and governance that makes Gujarat the gateway to future.  The Gujarat delegation is reported to meet 19 industry leaders from various sectors in a one-on-one set up.

While addressing the participants of the roadshow, Shri Balvantsinh Rajput shared insights into the success of the Vibrant Gujarat Summit and emphasized how Gujarat has become a role model for development and a preferred investment destination over the last two decades. He highlighted some of the state’s achievements like, Gujarat holds 18% share in total manufacturing in India and has been leading in the number of start-ups in the country. The state has 11% of India’s total number of factories. Gujarat stood first in logistics ranking, It contributed 33% share in export, and stood foremost in providing employment opportunities.  The state contributes a substantial 8.4% contribution to the national GDP.  Gujarat also saw a remarkable 15% rise in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) over the past two decades, surpassing the national average.”

While hailing the innovation progress in Gujarat, Hon’ble Industries Minister added, “Gujarat’s development includes impactful projects such as GIFT City, Dholera Sir, DREAM City, Green Field Port, LNG Terminal, and the High-Speed Rail Network. GIFT City, India’s first operational smart city in Gandhinagar, hosts a financial services center and an International Bullion exchange.”

Celebrating the success of India’s 1st Operational Smart City & Fintech-GIFT, Shri Balvantsinh Rajput shared that GIFT city is strategically positioned alongside global financial centers such as Singapore, Dubai, Saudi Arabia, and the United States, attracting companies, financial institutions, firms, and investment funds. “It is attracting companies like Google and Capgemini, making strides to become a fintech hub. This aligns with Gujarat’s dedicated IT policy, fostering the service sector’s progress and contributing significantly to economic development,” he stated.

Hailing Gujarat’s lead in the Renewable Energy Sector, the Hon’ble Industries Minister shared that, in alignment with the Prime Minister’s commitment to transform India into a net-zero economy, the state has undertaken several noteworthy initiatives and achieved a significant milestone with its renewable energy capacity reaching 22 GW, contributing to 15% of the nation’s total renewable energy capacity. Emphasizing the state’s commitment to sustainable practices, the Hon’ble Minister said, “A massive 30-GW hybrid park is under development in Kutch, and the Hydrogen Mission aims to produce 100 GW of energy. We are also actively engaged in the development of solar and wind energy.”

He further emphasized upon Gujarat’s future-ready mega projects like Biotech Park & Dholera SIR, and its willingness to attract investments in IT & ITeS, Semiconductor, Electronics, Aerospace & Defense, & Biotechnology. Additionally, he highlighted the state’s commitment to advancing Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision for the semiconductor sector. He said, “Gujarat stands as the first state in the country to implement the Semiconductor Policy, aiming to establish itself as India’s preferred location for semiconductor and display fab manufacturing. The upcoming Vibrant Summit will also organize seminars and conferences on important topics like Semiconductor Sector, Sustainable Manufacturing, Green Hydron, Electric Mobility, Renewable Energy, and Industry 4.0”.

He concluded by extending an invitation to all the participants for the upcoming Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024, urging investments in Gujarat and encouraging active involvement in the nation’s developmental journey.

Further, Dr. Rahul Gupta, IAS, Vice Chairman and Managing Director, Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC), Government of Gujarat, delivered a comprehensive presentation on the myriad business opportunities available in Gujarat.

The roadshow was also addressed by Mr. K. Ullas Kamath, Chairman-FICCI Karnataka State Council and Joint Managing Director, Jyothy Laboratories, followed by screening of an AV film on Vibrant Gujarat. Mr. Gaurav Sharma, Vice President, IBM Cloud and Cognitive Software, Mr. Viraj Mehta, Director, Global Capability Center at The Kraft Heinz Company shared their experiences in Gujarat. Shri Videh Khare IAS, Mission Director, Gujarat State Electronics Mission, delivered a presentation on Business opportunities in Gujarat and Dr. Vinod Kumar, Director, Promotion Directorate, IN-SPACe, presented on Indian Space Sector Reforms and Formation of IN-SPACe. Mr. Sandip Shah, General Manager & HoD, IFSC & Strategy, GIFT City shared his presentation on Business Opportunities in Gujarat as well.
