As part of “KARDAATHA e-SAHYOG ABHIYAN” “Income Tax Returns e-Filing – Help Desk” at Raj Bhavan, Vijayawada was inaugurated on 21/08/2019 by Sri Bishwa bhusan Hari Chandan, Hon’ble Governor, Andhra Pradesh. Sri Mukhesh Kumar Meena, I.A.S., Secretary to Hon’ble Governor initiated the proceedings. Sri M.Bhupal Reddy, I.R.S., Principal Commissioner of Income Tax, Vijayawada explained the necessity of filing Income Tax Returns in time by 31st of August, 2019 to avoid penal interest upto Rs.10,000/-. e-Filing / online filing of Income Tax Returns has become a simple process, wherein once it is logged to the Income Tax e-Filing Website, the ITR would be visible with pre-populated details and it would take only five minutes to file / submit the Income Tax Return. Filing of Income Tax Returns helps the Tax Payer to obtain Housing Loans, Education Loans, Loan for House Hold Goods, Loan for abroad studies etc., wherein Income Tax Returns for at least three years are insisted. For the F.Y.2018-19, Rs.9047 Crs. was collected by way of Income Tax and the target set for F.Y.2019-20 is Rs.11308 Crs. for the State of Andhra Pradesh. The number of Income Tax Payers in A.P. is 7.32 Lakhs. Sri Bishwabhusan Hari Chandan, the Hon’ble Governor lauded the efforts of Income Tax Department regarding revenue collections and roping in more and more Income Tax Payers.
