Climate change should be checked with tree plantation

T2Speaking on the occasion of tree plantation in Raj Bhavan premises on Tuesday, coinciding with the auspicious month of Karthika, Andhra Pradesh Governor Sri Biswa Bhusan Harichandan said tree plantation should be taken up in a big way to keep a check on ill-effects of fast changing environment and the climate change. The Governor said he has a personal fascination for tree plantation and always makes it a point to plant trees at all programmes participated by him. He said people should respond to the call given by the Prime Minister for tree plantation in a big way, to increase the green cover. The Governor planted Usiri (Indian Gooseberry) and Tulasi (Holy basil) trees in Raj Bhavan premises and said these medicinal plants are unique for the country and should be protected from extinction due to climate change.
