Business coach and PayPal’s veteran Sanjay Bhargava is all set to join hands with Elon Musk’s SpaceX as Starlink Country Director India.
In his recent post on LinkedIn, he wrote,” Super excited to join SpaceX effective Oct 1, 2021, as Starlink Country Director India. Had worked with @elonmusk on the PayPal founding team”.
“Have been in India since 2004 and Starlink and I share a common passion for supporting a transformed India starting with Rural India,” he added.
Starlink is competing for a portion of the growing satellite broadband market. It would come out of the beta phase, SpaceX and Tesla CEO Elon Musk had said in a tweet recently.
Sanjay graduated from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay with a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering and did his masters from the Indian Institutes of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad. Previously, he was the chairman of his co-founded investment advisory firm Bharosa Club.
He had previously worked with the Tesla founder on the PayPal founding team. He formulated an easier and low-cost method for attesting bank accounts linked to PayPal. The firm made a low-value deposit and asked the customer to update the transaction id instead of using the expensive method of collecting cancelled cheques.
Musk replied to a Twitter post that the company is figuring out how the regulatory approval process in the country would work for Starlink.
“Just figuring out the regulatory approval process,” he wrote.
