ASDC Leads with Nine Skills at WorldSkills 2024, Partners with FANUC India in Pioneering Robotics Skill Development

In a significant step towards advancing technical skills among Indian youth, the Automotive Skills Development Council (ASDC) proudly leads the participation in nine skills at the prestigious WorldSkills Competition 2024. With a record-breaking 15,400 registrations, ASDC is setting new benchmarks in skill development and international competitiveness.

During the recent inauguration ceremony of India Skills 2024, ASDC, showcased its strong commitment to nurturing young talents in cutting-edge technologies, including Robotics System Integration. The event highlighted ASDC’s leadership role in preparing Indian candidates for the global stage, emphasizing the council’s vital contribution to the skill ecosystem in the country.

Among the 63 skills featured in WorldSkills, ASDC’s focused categories have drawn immense interest, showcasing the burgeoning talent in the nation. Notably, the partnership with FANUC India for the Robotics System Integration skill has been a cornerstone of this initiative. FANUC India has provided exemplary support by offering state-of-the-art facilities, challenging test projects, and guidance from experienced jury members. From an impressive pool of 419 applicants in this category, only 24 finalists have been selected to form 12 dynamic teams, each vying for the chance to represent India at WorldSkills Lyon, France in 2024.

One of the standout participants, Sudheer Gaur, represents the high calibre of candidates ASDC has nurtured in preparation for these international challenges.

FR Singhvi, President of ASDC, expressed his enthusiasm and vision at the inauguration, held at the FANUC facility. “Despite all the work that we are doing, very less is known to the people. The collaboration with FANUC India marks a pivotal step in our mission to aware and equip India’s youth with future-ready skills. Robotics and automation are not just tools but essential skills that will drive our industry forward. It is imperative that we continue to invest in our young talents, providing them with platforms to shine on the world stage.” said Mr. Singhvi. He further added, “At ASDC, we train individuals and then we conduct test and make them future ready. Thus, we were also delighted to facilitate a visit for the robotics integration candidates to the Sansera Robotics plant in Bangalore, thanks to the support of Fanuc, providing an enriching and informative experience”

ASDC’s initiative not only supports skill development but also aligns with the government’s larger vision of enhancing India’s global manufacturing and technology footprint. By focusing on high-demand skills such as Robotics System Integration, ASDC is ensuring that Indian youths are well-prepared to meet the challenges of the modern workforce and excel in competitive environments.

As the national winners prepare to compete in Lyon, France, ASDC continues to champion the cause of vocational education and training, bridging the gap between industry requirements and available skills. This approach not only enhances employability but also strengthens India’s position in the global economy.

The success of the India Skills 2024 inauguration is a testament to the effective partnership between ASDC, FANUC India, and all stakeholders involved in making skill development a national priority. This collaborative effort is a beacon of hope for many young aspirants across the nation, igniting a passion for excellence and innovation.
