The CII Partnership Summit 2018 started in Visakhapatnam on Saturday with an Inaugural talk on the theme “Charting New India’s Global Strategy”. Addressing the gathering at the summit, Union Minister for Commerce and Industries, Suresh Prabhu said, “The vision of the Central Government coupled with the dynamism of the Chief Minister will surely take Andhra Pradesh to great heights.” “Andhra Pradesh will receive every possible support from the Central government and I am sure that Andhra Pradesh would see an all round development in every department”, he added. Speaking on the way ahead for Andhra Pradesh, Suresh Prabhu said, “Not just make in AP, the state would very soon be established on a “design in AP” model. Very soon the state would turn out to be a design hub.” He also added that he wants to see Andhra Pradesh as a state with highest employment rates. The focus must be on overall employment levels in the state and not just the development as both go hand in hand.
Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu speaking on the occasion said that, “I am happy that AP is hosting the Partnership summit for the third time. I am clear and confident that most of you will come here again. Out of 23 Partnership summits, AP has hosted 7. Last year, we had excellent response and this year we’ve outdone ourselves.” “Ours is a new state and is just 3 and half years old. We have a clear goal which is by 2022, we have to be one of the top 3 developed states in India and by 2029, we have to be no. 1 state in terms of development and happiness”, he added.
He also spoke about the development status of the state and said, “Despite deficit rainfall, we grew at a great rate. This is because of our strategy and water management. 1946 MOUs have been attracted in 3 and half years with committed employment of 31 lakh people from the state.” “Within 5 years we want to reach 25 lakh jobs more and 100 lakh crore investments. India will do extremely well in ease of doing business in coming years”, he added. Speaking to the investors, the Chief Minister said, “The state of AP has many opportunities for business available, come and invest in AP. Be it power, land, water or skilled labour, we have got everything at your disposal and I can assure you that the Government of AP will provide you with all the permissions and approvals within just 21 days. Such is our mechanism.”
