Under the leadership of Nara Lokesh, Andhra Pradesh is set to move information Technology into great heights. The IT city of Andhra Pradesh-Visakhapatnam has been promoted by the government to bring IT companies round the globe. On inaugurating 13 IT companies from different parts of the city Nara Lokesh said,.“Visakhapatnam is the major IT centre in the State but we are keen on development of information technology in Tirupati, Anantapur and Amaravati other places also.”
AP Government had already developed 1.5 lakh sq ft and was in the process of developing another 5 lakh sqft of space for IT in Amaravati. “I am personally supervising the works at the Kapuluppada IT Park and this is my third visit to Vizag after taking over as Minister for IT. It took me one year to open up Kapuluppada,” Nara Lokesh said.
On the initiatives taken by the government, he said that we have streamlines incentives to IT companies, Preferential Market Access (PMA) was being given and the feedback was received on how the IT industry is progressing. APEITA (AP Electronics and IT Agency) has been providing training programmes on skill development to people who are looking for job in IT. The first Signature Towers would be handed over soon and construction of the second one would definitely begin soon. Patra Corp COO Matt Easterlin said that the company would add 1,000 jobs in Vizag in the coming year and this is expected to be the one of the largest IT workforce in Vizag.
