AIIMS Mangalagiri will be commencing the Out Patient Department (OPD) services from 12th March, 2019. All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Mangalagiri is a tertiary care hospital and is being established by the PMSSY, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India to address the regional imbalances in health care and to provide additional platform for medical education and research. While the Government of India is providing project funds to the tune of 1680 Crores, the Government of Andhra Pradesh has provided land of about 183 Acres for the Institute to be established.
The clinicians of the department of General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Ophthalmology, Community & Family Medicine, ENT, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Radiology, Dermatology, Orthopaedics, Psychiatry and Dentistry can be consulted by the patients from Monday to Saturday. As of now, entry will be from Mangalagiri town side and patients can travel on their own vehicle till OPD parking. The OPD has been presently setup in Dharamshala building, which is a complete building in all aspects. Towards patient amenities, AIIMS Administration, under the dynamic leadership of Dr. Mukesh Tripathi, Director & C.E.O, has also set up a canteen facility, AMRIT pharmacy and HindLab diagnostics services. Dr. T.S. Ravikumar, President of AIIMS Mangalagiri is likely to be present on the day. A formal inauguration shall be organized in due course.
